Agreement and eligibility
By downloading or using GUFFAW, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Apple’s applicable App Store terms. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these Terms in your country.
What GUFFAW does
GUFFAW is an iPhone party game for people in the same room. It provides situation-based charades decks, solo or team rounds, local scorekeeping, an optional local Camera Replay, Kid-Safe filtering, and a local Group Deck assembled from signed built-in cards.
License
The app is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use GUFFAW on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules and Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, interfere with, automate abusive access to, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
Your content and other people
First names, hints, replay video, and other content you enter or record remain yours. Group Deck inputs stay in memory for the current app session; replay video stays on your device unless you choose Save or Share. You are responsible for having the permission of anyone you record, name, photograph, or include.
Do not enter, record, save, or share confidential information or content that violates another person’s privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights. You are responsible for copies handed to Photos or another app.
Prohibited use
You may not use GUFFAW to create, record, store, or distribute content or take actions that are illegal, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually exploit or endanger a child, violate another person’s rights, contain malware, bypass purchase or safety controls, disrupt the app or its providers, or enable spam, scams, or unauthorised surveillance.
Free decks, subscriptions, and purchases
GUFFAW includes six decks without a time or round limit. Premium unlocks the remaining marked decks. The purchase screen shows the exact plans, included access, billing period, trial state, and local App Store price before you confirm. Current U.S. reference prices are:
- Annual$24.99 per year; no trial
- Weekly$4.99 per week after an eligible three-day free trial
The weekly plan includes a three-day free trial for eligible subscribers; the annual plan does not include a trial. Trial eligibility is controlled by Apple. Prices vary by region and may change; the App Store price shown before confirmation controls. Earlier GUFFAW products remain eligible for Restore Purchases but are not offered for new purchases.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until cancelled and Apple may begin processing renewal during the 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel in Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting GUFFAW does not cancel a subscription.
Use Restore Purchases in Settings on a device signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Apple handles App Store refunds; submit a request through reportaproblem.apple.com. GUFFAW Support cannot issue or override an App Store refund.
Third-party services
GUFFAW depends on Apple for distribution and payments, Adapty for paywalls and entitlement management, Firebase for analytics, configuration, and crash diagnostics, and Cloudflare for website delivery. Those services may be unavailable, change, or apply their own terms and policies. See the Privacy Policy for the provider and data-flow details.
When you save or share a replay, your chosen destination is governed by its own terms. We do not guarantee that another app is installed, available, or will accept a particular file.
GUFFAW content and intellectual property
The app, its software, design, text, graphics, branding, bundled decks and cards, and other non-user content are owned by Anastasiia Martynovets or licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited app license and sharing features expressly provided, no rights in this content are transferred to you.
Feedback
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
Availability, changes, and termination
We may update, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to improve GUFFAW, address safety or legal requirements, manage capacity, or reflect provider changes. Your license ends automatically if you materially violate these Terms. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect.
You can stop using the app and delete its local data by deleting GUFFAW from the device. Data retention and privacy requests are described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GUFFAW is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anastasiia Martynovets and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, use, or goodwill arising from GUFFAW. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for GUFFAW during the 12 months before the claim or USD $50, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Apple terms
These Terms are between you and Anastasiia Martynovets, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for GUFFAW or its support. Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies where these Terms do not cover a matter. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms against you. You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a U.S. Government prohibited or restricted-party list.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms when GUFFAW, its providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Questions, complaints, or claims can be sent to help@guffaw.app.
